Bulletin Announcements - Holy Name Society - Adoptive God Parent’s Day
Created by Louis Rexing – President of CAHNS (feel free to use my name in your announcement if you think it will make a better statement to your congregation. However, you will need to make a few grammatical changes to make it sound as though it is coming from the Archdiocese HNS)

SUNDAY – April 20
On the weekend of May 4th, The Holy Name /Men’s Clubs across the city will be collecting donations for our “ADOPTIVE GOD PARENTS DAY”. By becoming a God Parent for a day, you will be assisting many who need the support of a good catholic heart. We pray for the end of abortions, but often we forget that those who have made the right decision find it hard to make ends meet. We would like to show our support to those, and others who find themselves in need with growing families.

As May is celebrated in the Catholic faith as a month to our Holy Mother Mary, what an appropriate month to recognize all the mothers in need. As we hold a Pre-Mothers Day baby shower, we ask that all parishioners look into their heart and make a donation for children in need. These mothers have needs for even the most basic of items (diapers, formula, clothes, etc.) Also consider larger size diapers and clothing when buying your donation. Although we all think of the cute clothes for the very small infants, babies grow fast! Today the need for larger items including diapers and clothes are even greater.

HERE IS WHERE YOU CAN TALK ABOUT THE GROUP YOU SELECTED!

(the following is an example we used- You may also want to add a little something about your chosen group in the following announcements as well.)

The decision as to where to make the donation was up to our Holy Name/Men’s Club. We have chosen to support a group know as “Courage”. Courage is associated with the St. Germaine parish, and is a non-for-profit Christian assistance center for mothers finding themselves in financial problems due to their decision to keep their babies. The organization is located in Oak Lawn and supports families in need right here on the South Side. (We also insert a letter from the organization listing the items they need.)

SUNDAY – April 27

Next Sunday the Holy Name/Men’s Club will be collecting donations for “ADOPTIVE GOD PARENTS DAY”. This Pre-Mother’s Day collection will be used to allow some very courageous mothers to worry a little less on Mother’s Day. Won’t you please consider making a donation of diapers, baby food, clothes, blankets, and other baby related items. Even financial donations can mean a world of difference. Please remember that babies grow fast, and larger items are in much more need than smaller infant sizes.

We all pray that every baby will be given the chance of life. Sometimes this means a hardship on those who actually have to make that decision. Next week your donations will let these mothers know that we understand that they could have made a different decision, and we support their decision to do the right thing. If everyone brings just one item, we can make a big difference in more that one hundred mothers in need. Please!

On another note, if you can assist us next Sunday in transporting the collected items, please call (Add this info).

SUNDAY – May 4th

We would like to thank everyone who brought a gift to support our Baby Shower for “ADOPTIVE GOD PARENTS DAY” today. If you forgot a gift, it is never too late. We also will collect financial donations today. Your gift goes a long way in helping those who have decided that pro-life is more than just words. Please remember these mothers in your prayers next Sunday. Their Christian beliefs make Mother’s Day a blessed event for the babies they choose to have!

SUNDAY – May 11th

The Holy Name/Men’s Club would like to wish all the mothers and grandmothers a HAPPY MOTHER DAY. We once again thank everyone who donated to the ADOPTIVE GOD PARENTS DAY last weekend insuring a happier Mother’s Day to many women who might not have had a reason to celebrate their day. Through your generosity we were able to donate $(money amount) and (list some of the items you collected) to (list the organization you contributed to).

These announcements have been generated to assist you in organizing your event. They are simply templates, and you know your parish better than we do. Make changes as needed. We hope that the outline does give you some assistance.
