What is this Mass: 

Once a year, all of the Holy Name and Men’s Clubs across the Chicagoland area are invited to share in a special mass. We join as one with the Knights of Columbus and St. Peter Claver Honor Guard. The Blue Army also joins us in the procession carrying a beautiful statue of our Mother Mary. Each Holy name brings their banners and walk behind them in a procession from our assembly point to the church. It is a wonderful event, and to hear all of the men’s voices sing will send chills down your spine! We look forward to seeing you!

Meetings: 

We meet several times to let you help in the planning of the event. These meetings take place in our Social Hall. It is not only a time for planning, it is a wonderful opportunity to talk to the officers of CAHNS, and meet with other men from Holy Name societies across our great city. Traditionally these are the meetings where we assign men to: 


Carry up our presentation gifts

Read intercessions (in many different languages)

Assign Lectors 


These meetings are scheduled for:

June 3^rd, 2003 (Mass Walkthrough) 


Meetings start at 7:30PM in the Social Hall (Behind church – enter from North Doors) 

The walkthrough is where we take you through the procession into the church. This makes the evening much smoother when everyone knows what to expect. 

AD Book 

As you can imagine, there is quite a financial need to run this event. We provide Sandwiches, snacks, drinks and desert to everyone who attends. This is rather costly. In fact most parishes in the past 5 years have spent approximately $5000 to host the event. To offset this cost, we prepare an ad book.

You will also be able to make a small donation at the reception if you so desire. This is a donation, and not required. We want you to attend, and want no strings attached for enjoying yourself.

St Nicholas is located on Ridge approximately 1.5 Miles south of Howard Street (Evanston/Chicago Boundry). It is between Madison and Washington Streets on Ridge Ave. Asbury is the next street West.  

Major Streets are as Follows: 

North – Main Street (Dempster is next North major street)

East – Ridge Street (Chicago is next East major Street)

South – Oakton (Howard is the next South major street)

West - Asbury (Dodge is the next West major street)
